The Daily Star confirmed Rahman was stopped for approximately 2.5 hours at Indira Gandhi International Airport on June 16 while travelling to an Indian Ocean Rim Association ministerial meeting; his YouTube channel carrying anti-India commentary had been blocked by Indian authorities weeks earlier. Bangladesh's deputy high commissioner in New Delhi was summoned for a formal protest, and Dhaka called the incident a breach of diplomatic protocol.
